Bachelor of Economy

The Bachelor of Economics (BE) offered by the Faculty of Economics and Management, UKM is the pioneer among economics programs in Malaysia that has produced many well-known and prominent economists in the country. This programme is designed to equip students with knowledge and skills in the field of economics that allows graduates to apply economics-related knowledge in organisational planning, policy development, research and decision making in organisations. Focus areas include international and industrial economics, monetary and fiscal economics, econometrics, economic development and Islamic economics. PROGRAMME SUMMARY

The Doctor of Philosophy of Islamic Studies in Faculty of Islamic Studies UKM offers five (5) specializations namely: Shariah, Usuluddin and Philosophy, Arabic Studies, and Islamic Civilization, Da’wah and Leadership Studies, and Quran and Sunnah Studies. The specializations are five (5) core areas that form the basis of contemporary Islamic issues. All programs offered have been recognized by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA). Modes of study offered are in Research.

Programme Offered

Master - Research Mode

1.      Bachelor’s degree in Islamic Studies with a good Cumulative Grade Point Average 

    (CGPA 2.75) from UKM or any Institutions of Higher Learning recognized by the Senate or other qualifications equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Islamic Studies and have other qualifications or experience recognized by the Senate.

2.      Meet other requirements set by the program (if applicable)

3.      Meet the requirements of the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA)

4.     Must meet the English Language competency requirements by obtaining 

     the minimum score or band results which is:

TOEFL iBT (30-34) or TOEFL pBT (396-416) or IELTS (4.0)

 

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

1.     Complete prerequisite courses (if applicable);

 

2. Attend lectures and workshops for the Research Method course (PPPY6283) and successfully complete the first semester before beginning the thesis writing.

3.  Pass the Bahasa Melayu subject as required by UKM›s rules and regulations.

 

4.      Present a research proposal in the first or second semester.

 

5.      Prepare a thesis of no more than 60,000 words in the research field.

 

6.      Publish one (1) journal articles indexed in Scopus/WoS

or the following categories:

         Journals published by UKM and Faculty/Institute.

         MAPIM.

Thesis

a.      Candidates must pass the research proposal presentation.

b.      Candidates must pass the thesis and oral examination.

c.      Bahasa Melayu Course (Malay Language)

d.    Candidates must enroll and pass Bahasa Melayu course (Malay Language) as a requirement for graduation as required by UKM.

4.   Prepare a thesis of no more than 100,000 words in the research field.

5.   Publish two (2) journal articles indexed in Scopus/WoS; OR at least one (1) Scopus/WoS journal article AND one (1) article from the following categories:

       Journals published by UKM and Faculty/Institute.

       A book chapter published by a publisher listed in WoS, UKM Publisher.
