Bachelor of Economy

The Bachelor of Economics (BE) offered by the Faculty of Economics and Management, UKM is the pioneer among economics programs in Malaysia that has produced many well-known and prominent economists in the country. This programme is designed to equip students with knowledge and skills in the field of economics that allows graduates to apply economics-related knowledge in organisational planning, policy development, research and decision making in organisations. Focus areas include international and industrial economics, monetary and fiscal economics, econometrics, economic development and Islamic economics. The Faculty of Law, UKM has designed postgraduate programs Doctor of Philosophy (Law) and Master of Laws (LLM) in improving a standard of thoughts, skills & knowledge.

The advantage of postgraduate study is that it allows you to enter employment with additional skills and knowledge. As we specialize in teaching, with a focus on practical problem solving, you will develop a formidable range of essential skills that can make all the difference when developing your career.

Programme Offered

Master in Law

  1. Bachelor’s Degree by obtaining a good Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) from a University or any institution of higher learning recognized by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and/ or having accreditation recognized by a foreign Accreditation Body, or institution who has accreditation as prescribed by a programme.

  2. Doctor of Medicine degree or Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University or any institution of higher learning or an equivalent degree from any institutions of higher learning recognised by the Senate.

  3. Any other qualification recognised by the Senate obtained through the Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL).

  4. Fulfils other requirements prescribed by the programme (if applicable) and

  5. Fulfils requirements of the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA)

ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS
1. Obtained TOEFL (550), IELTS(6) or MUET (4) results which fulfil the score or minimum band requirements prescribed by the programme
2. The Faculty/Institute may grant exemption to the requirements specified in subregulation (1) for the international candidate who:
– will be writing his/her thesis/dissertation in the Malay/ Arabic languages;
– has the academic qualifications obtained from any local universities recognised by the Senate; or
– is originally from a country where English is the official language or he/she has the academic qualifications obtained from any higher learning institution which uses English as the medium of instruction.
3. International students who have the academic qualifications obtained from any local university approved by the Senate will be exempted from requirement but are required to take Cambridge English Placement Test (CEPT). Student who not pass will need to take the HEET Training Programme.

LMCM1083 Communicative Malay Language for International Student.

Doctor of Philosophy

  1.  Master’s Degree from a University or any institution of higher learning recognized by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and/ or have accreditation recognized by a foreign Accreditation Body, or an institution with accreditation as prescribed by a programme.

  2. Other qualifications equivalent to a masters degree or other qualifications with experience recognised by the Senate; or

  3. A student currently pursuing full time master’s programme under sub regulation 6 (a) at the University and recommended by the Faculty’s/ Institute’s Graduate Studies Committee for status conversion to a doctoral programme with approval from the Dean/ Director; or

  4. Bachelor Degree with distinction from the University or any institution of higher learning subject to what is prescribed by the Faculty/ Institute and approval by Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and/ or with accreditation recognised by a foreign Accreditation Board

  5. Any other qualification recognised by the Senate obtained through the Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL); or

  6. Fulfils other requirements prescribed by the programme (if applicable); and

  7. Fulfils requirements of the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA)
