Bachelor of Economy

The Bachelor of Economics (BE) offered by the Faculty of Economics and Management, UKM is the pioneer among economics programs in Malaysia that has produced many well-known and prominent economists in the country. This programme is designed to equip students with knowledge and skills in the field of economics that allows graduates to apply economics-related knowledge in organisational planning, policy development, research and decision making in organisations. Focus areas include international and industrial economics, monetary and fiscal economics, econometrics, economic development and Islamic economics. Master of Islamic Studies

Entry Requirement

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Islamic Studies with a good Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) from UKM or any Institutions of Higher Learning recognized by the Senate; or
  2. Other qualifications equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in Islamic Studies and have other qualifications or experience recognized by the Senate; or
  3. Candidates WITHOUT qualifications or working experience in the field of Islamic Studies, but interested in conducting cross-disciplinary studies with the field of Islamic Studies, must take prerequisite courses and meet the minimum CGPA set by the Program; and

  1. A Master’s Degree from UKM or any institution of Higher learning recognized by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and/or having accreditation recognized by an overseas Accreditation Body, or an institution having accreditation as prescribed by a program; or
  2. Other qualifications equivalent to a Master’s Degree or having other qualifications with experience recognized by the Senate; or

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field with minimum CGPA 2.75 or equivalent, from any institutions of higher learning recognized by the UKM Senate; or
  2. Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field with minimum CGPA of 2.50 – 2.74 or equivalent, subject to rigorous internal assessment; or

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant field from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia or any institution of higher learning recognized by the Senate with a minimum of Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) 2.75.
  2. Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant field from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia or any institution of higher learning recognized by the Senate with a minimum of Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.50 and not meeting CGPA 2.75, and 2 years working experience in a related field;
  3. Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant field from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia or any institution of higher learning recognized by the Senate not meeting Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) 2.50 and 5 years of working experience in related field.

Doctor of Philosophy

Entry Requirements:

  1. Master’s Degree in the relevant field from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia or any institution of higher learning recognized by the Senate; or
  2. Other qualifications equivalent to Master’s Degree or other qualifications recognized by Senate; or
  3. Students who are enrolled in a Masters full time at the University and approved by the Graduate Studies Committee to change his status to a Doctorate program with the approval of the Dean; or
  4. Bachelor of Science (Hons) with first class or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 3.67 from University.

Entry Requirements:

  1. A Bachelor Degree in Information Technology/Computer Science from University Kebangsaan Malaysia or other universities approved by the Senate with a Cummulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) ≥ 3.50; or
  2. Other relevant qualifications or experience approved by the Senate.

  1. A Bachelor Degree in Information Technology/Computer Science from University Kebangsaan Malaysia or other universities approved by the Senate with a Cummulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) ≥3.50; or
  2. Other relevant qualifications or experience approved by the Senate.

Faculty of Law

Master in Law

Entry Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree by obtaining a good Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) from a University or any institution of higher learning recognized by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and/ or having accreditation recognized by a foreign Accreditation Body, or institution who has accreditation as prescribed by a programme.
  2. Doctor of Medicine degree or Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University or any institution of higher learning or an equivalent degree from any institutions of higher learning recognised by the senate;
  3. Any other qualification recognised by the Senate obtained through the Accreditation of PriorExperiential Learning (APEL);

Doctor of Philosophy

Entry Requirements:

  1. Master’s Degree from a University or any institution of higher learning recognized by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and/ or have accreditation recognized by a foreign Accreditation Body, or an institution with accreditation as prescribed by a programme;
  2. Other qualifications equivalent to a masters degree or other qualifications with experience recognised by the Senate; or
  3. A student currently pursuing full time master’s programme under sub regulation 6 (a) at the University and recommended by the Faculty’s/ Institute’s Graduate Studies Committee for status conversion to a doctoral programme with approval from the Dean/ Director; or
